Musicians arraigned for taking nude photo

By BARTHOLOMEW MADUKWE

TWO friends, Ekene Uzor,24, and Eni Daniel, 21, have been arraigned before an Ejigbo magistrate court in Lagos for allegedly taking nude photo of a teenager and forcing her to suck their male organ.

The 17-year old teenager, during resumed hearing on Thursday, informed the court that she knew Daniel Uzor at her mother’s shop in Surulere, Lagos, adding that Uzor, who is in the entertainment industry, promised to groom her to become a star in the industry. She said that it was under this guise, he invited her to his residence at 10, Joe Ejeye, Jakande Estate, Ejigbo.

On the day of the incident, according to her, when she arrived Uzor’s flat where his friend, Eni Daniel was already waiting, Uzor immediately locked the door to the flat and they started touching her body.

In her words: “They came to me and started fondling my breasts and other parts of my body. They ordered me to remove my dress. They started taking my nude photographs and threatened to post them on the internet. They forced me to suck their penises. They had rounds of sex with me in turns. When they were satisfied, they told me to go. But they did not delete my nude photographs in their camera phones.”

The teenager said she was afraid of having her nude pictures posted on the internet, so she decided to keep her ordeal in the hands of the duo to herself. However, after some days, she summoned courage to inform her grandfather of the incident.

On hearing what transpired between the two upcoming musicians and the teenager, her grandfather wasted no time in taking her to the police station to report the matter and the duo were arrested.

When the charge was read to them before the trial magistrate, Mrs. M.B. Folami, they pleaded not guilty. The police prosecutor, Mr. Oladejo Balogun, charged Uzor and Eni before the court with the offences punishable under sections 409 and 259 of the criminal code laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

Mrs. Folami admitted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum, but they (Uzor and Eni) were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition. The matter was adjourned to August 31, 2012, for continuation of the trial.
