WARRI—Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Midwest zone, has condemned the current scarcity of petrol in Delta and Edo states, calling on the  Federal Government and Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, to come to the aid of petroleum marketers to guarantee steady supply.

IPMAN’s zonal chairman, Mr. Austin Irabor, at a marketers’  extra-ordinary meeting in Warri, Delta State, yesterday  said: “There is no fuel in Delta State. Only six trucks of fuel are supplied to the state daily, which is inadequate. Most of the filling stations are without fuel and the situation is getting worse.”

He said that only the urgent intervention of the Federal Government and NNPC would save the situation.

IPMAN Delta State Chairman, Chief Akpovire Edafevwotu, on his part, said the association was unhappy with alleged indiscriminate levies on marketers by the Delta State Government.

He threatened that the marketers would drag the state government to court, if the levies were not stopped.
