AKURE—The Akeredolu Campaign Organisation, ACO, through its Director of Media, Publicity and Strategy, Mr Idowu Ajanaku, has described the statement credited to Governor Segun Mimiko and Mr Segun Ojo in Owo that the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN,  would not win the October 20 governorship election in Ondo State as mere day-dreaming and wishful-thinking.

It said: “The people of Owo cannot be deceived by the pretentious and deceitful Mimiko government who cannot point to a single road project in the state. What’s more that Mimko could not make a single policy statement in the ancient city of Owo the cradle of Yoruba progressive movement.

“The five-kilometre Owo-Akure dualisation could not be completed in three and half years by Mimiko government who stock in trade is to play politics with the welfare of the people. The same Mimiko has abandoned the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic staff in Owo, who died in the struggle.

“Is it Bola Tinubu who was a former Senator, a two-term governor of Lagos State, an astute leader of National Democratic Coalition, NADECO, the National leaders of a party who has won election across the country that they are referring to as a district officer?

“Ojo and Agunloye have  never won any election in their political career. Even Mimiko won his first election as governor of Ondo State and was helped by the same  Bola Tinubu to retrieve this mandate when it was stolen.

“The Yoruba integration agenda is for the betterment of the good people of the South-West and the Ondo people have decided to join their kith and kin. No amount of deceit can stop them.”

ACO has also described the exit of Ojo, a defector to Labour Party, as a good riddance to a bad rubbish of another irredeemable political rabble rouser, seeking relevance.

Ojo, a former Commissioner of Finance under the late Adebayo Adefarati, was one of those who bided for the ticket of the party but failed to get it based on lack of integrity.

The ACO, says it sees his exit as a relief. “He is a politician that lacks integrity. Ojo should tell the people of Ondo State how he left the Civil service. His tenure as a commissioner under Adebayo Adefarati was riddled with corruption such as Plot 48 building scam in Lagos in which the then governor said he was misled by Ojo; which the opposition later used to collapse Adefarati’s government,” Ajanaku said.
