KOGI State Governor, Captain Idris Wada yesterday appealed to those who believe that opposing a government in power amounts to insulting, vilifying or labellings the sitting governor on the pages of newspapers and magazines.
The governor who spoke through his Special Adviser on Media, Jacob Edi in lokoja, also insisted that in a refined political system, the opposition finds out what the citizenry want and press it on the administration to carry it.
”Those who abuse the governor, those who insult the governor as a person are those who want to be relevant after failing to be relevant when they were supposed to be relevant” wada said.
Answering a question on the alleged frosty relationship that existed between him and his former boss, Ibrahim Idris, wada refuted the allegation, saying he had enjoyed a cordial relationship between him and his predecessor since he took over the mantle of leadership in the state.
”I think those peddling the rumour are trying to cause frosty relationship between us when none exist” He declared.
