LAGOS — Tanus Communications Limited, Wednesday, pledged to partner with the SOS Children’s Village in Lagos in the area of sponsorship, in furtherance of its Corporate Social Responsibility to its immediate community.

Making the pledge during a charity visit and presentation of gifts to the village, as part of its 20th anniversary celebration, Executive Chairman of Tanus Communications Limited, Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi, said the gesture was meant to further enhance the company’s ties to the Children’s Village by contributing more to the laudable work being undertaken at the centre.

Ogunbiyi commended the efforts of the village in the rehabilitation of different categories of abandoned and orphaned children, adding that the level of dedication shown by the organisation towards the welfare of its wards was nothing short of outstanding.

He said the fact that the village relied largely on the charitable donations and gifts from well-meaning individuals and organisations to run its operations, made the achievements of the children’s village in nurturing those wards often from infancy to adulthood, even more remarkable.

He said: “This is great work you are doing here, taking in children, even those with physical and mental disabilities and raising them as though they were yours, transforming them and giving them hope.

“That you have nurtured children who grew up here, got married here and are now having their own children, is truly a labour of love.”

The Village Director, Mr. B.A. Buraimoh, expressed great appreciation of the company’s gestures in the donation of gifts to the centre and in the area of sponsorship, and lauded the interest shown by Tanus Communications Limited in the welfare of children at the SOS Village.
