One-time popular reggae star,  Stereoman, popularly known as Ekwe Sample is currently held at the D4 section of the State CID Panti  for an alleged murder of the mother of his daughter, Rukayat Idris.

Rukayat was found dead in her car under a bridge around Mile 2-Bdagry express way last month.

According to eye witnesses account, she was found dead with marks on her neck which suggested  she was strangled to death.

After the sad incident, her family was said to have reported the matter at the police station, accusing the reggae star of killing the mother of his daughter.

Showtime gathered that  Stereoman lived together with the deceased and their daugther until last year when the Ekwe Sample crooner  ended their love affair and mo ved out of the house to live on his own.

While the couple were still together, Stereoman was alleged to battered her several times, a situation which led to their separation.

However, Stereoman has denied having anything to do with Rukayat’s death.

Stereoman’s song Ekwe was popular some  years back. He was also once a Glo ambassador. Not much was heard from him for many years until news filtered into town last week that he was arrested for the alleged murder of his baby mama, a lady called Rukayat Idris.
