ILORIN—An elderly Italian construction engineer was on Monday kidnapped in Ilorin, capital of Kwara State as he was monitoring a road drainage contract by the state government along Bishop Smith Street at about 5:30pm.

Name of the Italian was not immediately known but news of his kidnap filtered to newsmen last night through a staff of the construction company who craved anonymity.

He also expressed concern that the kidnappers were yet to make any contact with the associates of the seized Italian three days after he was abducted.

The new Police Public Relations 0fficer in the state, Fabode Olufemi confirmed the incident.
