Falcons’ veteran keeper, Precious Dede disclosed that newly appointed coach, Kadiri Ikhana is showing no sign of slack in his handling of the Nigerian women team.
Ikhana a former Eagles’ defender and CAF Champions league winner with Enyimba of Aba had the Falcons job thrown on his laps, after the Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2011 All Africa Games and the 2012 Olympics which they have never failed to attend since women soccer was introduced.
“The coach is doing very well and he is living up to our expectations. All is moving on well,” Dede said during a chat.
She stated that the team is behind the coach and are eagerly awaiting to play against Zimbabwe in the African Women Championship qualifiers in late June.
Ikhana was unveiled as the Falcons’ head coach in April. He was given the mandate to take the Falcons to the semi-finals of the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup finals in Canada, as well as qualify for the 2015 All Africa Games in Mozambique and the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
