UMBRELLA body for pro-labour civil society organisations, Joint Action Front, JAF, weekend, asked the Federal Government to track down the murderers of Mr. Olaitan Oyerinde, Principal Private Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, who was killed in his bedroom in Edo State on Friday.

JAF, in a statement, lamented that until his assassination, Olaitan who was on leave of absence in Governor Oshiomhole’s administration, was the Deputy General Secretary of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.

The statement by Dr. Oladipo Fashina and Mr  Abiodun Aremu, Chairperson and JAF Secretary, condemned the  murder and commiserated with his family, Edo State Government, NLC, and the entire Nigerian labour movement.

JAF recalled that killing of Olaitan in his bedroom came a few days after a truck rammed into Oshiomhole’s convoy and left three journalists in the press crew dead.

According the JAF, Olaitan lived a life of struggle for the emancipation of the Nigerian masses right from his student days at the University of Lagos and in the glorious era of the National Association of Nigerian Students.
