As parts of its policy of keeping to the contractual agreement signed with its players, the management of Warri Wolves Football Club of Warri has paid the players another 25 percent of their  sign-on fee,  bringing the total  paid them to 50 percent.

According to the chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, the administration of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has made it a priority to make players welfare its number one priority and as such has decided to keep to the agreement signed with the players in paying them their sign-on fee in four instalments.

While urging the players and officials of the club to reciprocate the state government’s efforts in doing well in all the competitions they are involved in, the state sports commission boss added that the players have also been paid their salary up to date and all their out-standing match bonuses.

He said this is to motivate the players and officials in their coming engagements including yesterday’s  CAF Confederation Cup tie against FC Kallon, adding that he has been impressed by the performance of the team in recent times both in the continent and the local league.

He however, commended the technical crew led by Maurice Cooreman for building a team all Deltans are proud to call their own, saying this has led to a large turn out of fans to the Warri City Stadium to watch their home games.
