WORRIED by the inability of some men to perform their God-given role as heads of their family, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye is expected to pray for Nigerian men, reports Olayinka Latona.

The special prayer session will come up on Sunday, May 6 at the national headquarters of the church, also known as Throne of Grace, at Ebute Metta in Lagos at 8.00 a.m. with Pastor Adeboye ministering.

Addressing a news conference in Lagos, the Assistant Pastor of RCCG national headquarters parish, Pastor Goke Aniyeloye said the prayer session for men is part of a series of special prayers for different segments of the nation’s life.

According to Pastor Aniyeloye the day has been set aside for the special prayer tagged; “I shall be the head”, noting that some men have lost their God-given mandate of being the head.

He noted that such men have inadvertently lost their value and that is why God has directed Pastor Adeboye to pray for all men, including those who are aspiring to be the family heads.

Said he: “As we all know God has made men to be the head; but in many cases the reverse is the case. Some men are slaves in their own house. Satan is responsible for the underperformance of some men and that is why Pastor Adeboye sought the face of God and received the go-ahead that prayer should be held for all men that are aspiring to be the head of their families and communities.”

Enumerating factors hindering men from attaining their ultimate, Pastor Aniyeloye blamed the development on the refusal of most men to key into the covenant of God; non-challant attitude, ancestral curses and sin.

The man of God therefore advised Nigerian men and women to get closer to God to enable them tackle the challenges at the home-front.

“Responsibility of home-front belongs to both man and women. For us to have a good society and  God-fearing children that will lead this nation to its promised land, both men and women should give positi-ve instruction and direction that will better the home and society at large,” he said.
