Former Super Eagles player Fuludu Edema has reiterated the need for Stephen Keshi to concentrate on the building process with the local players following the below par performance of the foreign players in the first leg of the Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali last month.
The Warri Wolves Director of Football expressing his views in an interview with Saturday Vanguard Sports said he supports Keshi to continue to build mainly on the local players in order to build firm confidence in them.
“Consistency is the key to success in everything. Keshi is rebuilding and in every rebuilding process, there are things to experiment in order to have evaluation. Rwanda’s game was one of such experiments, despite the fact that he did not play more of the home-based players . I’m not sure he was comfortable with that. Weather changes could affect players especially with the fact that Europe is colder than Africa,” he said.
Fuludu added that “Keshi should try as much as he can to play more of the home players because it would help their confidence in big matches. The more local players he uses, the more confidence they will get in the task ahead.
I prefer the home-based players because they have been playing together in the league.
