It was the third in the series of the Harp sponsored Rhythm Unplugged comedy/music concerts and the venue was the high brow Presidential Hotels in Port-Harcourt.

With great names like Wande Coal, Flavour, Sound Sultan, Kay Cee of the KC Presh fame, Duncan Mighty, AY, Gordons, W4 and  I Go Dye on the line, Port Harcourt had great fun, a forth night ago.

Sound Sultan, the Jagbadantis master set the ball rolling with his delivery and when he pitched with the hit song Orobo, the crowd  screamed out their delight with cat calls and whistles.

Flavour didn’t disappoint as he took the audience on a merry go round dipping into his musical arsenal to arouse and caress crowd with his songs.

From Na’bania through Nwa Baby, he finally anchored the night on his famous hit song Oyi. It was ecstatic.

Home boy, Duncan Mighty who had arrived the venue in cloud of aides went about the show in a business manner. And deliver he did and with his usual Port Harcourt swag.

Wande Coal was just awesome as he reeled out tracks after tracks of his hit songs. With the ladies swooning and screaming, Wande was at his ultimate best as he treated the Port Harcourt crowd like royalty.

In all, it was a good show and money worth for those who came.

The first Harp sponsored Rhythm Unplugged held last year in Abuja and in spite of the fear of the deadly Boko Haram sect and their threat to bomb strategic spots in the nation’s capital city, the show was a resounding success.

That success story seemed to have spurred the Cecil Hammond led Flytime Entertainment, organisers of the show to unleash on the Lagos audience, the best of  A-list musicians and comedians.

Dubbed the Mother of All Shows ‘ Rhythm Unplugged’ held two separate editions for music and comedy.

The Lagos leg of the event, which was tagged ‘The biggest comedy festival ever’ was held December 18 at the exquisite Eko Hotel and Towers, Victoria Island in Lagos.

Internationally acclaimed comedians Ndumiso and Loyiso Gol from South Africa were imported to add more spice to the night of comedy.

Apart from some of the world class comedians, the organisers also lined up amongst others Basket Mouth Gordons, I Go Dye, Bovi and Buchi.

And the very next Saturday at the Oceanview restaurant, some of the best musicians were on hand to blow away a sold out crowd.

The list was awesome and paraded big names like Timaya. P-Square, Ice Prince, Shina Peters, Whizkid, Tiwa Savage, Sound Sultan and Wande Coal.

AY and Ik of the Big Brother Africa fame anchored the music concert.
