NATIONAL Secretary of the Ijaw National Congress, INC, the apex Ijaw group in Niger-Delta, Barrister Robinson Esite was kidnapped, Friday and  whisked to an unknown hideout by gunmen, who are demanding N40 million ransom for his release.

Details of his kidnap were still sketchy, last night, but an Ijaw youth leader in Edo State, Mr. Andrew Igiri confirmed that the INC scribe was kidnapped.

He said he put a call to Esite when he heard that he had been kidnapped and luckily he answered the call, but told him to call him again, as he had been seized by kidnappers.

Saturday Vanguard learnt that Esite, who resides in Edo state  told the chairman of the INC chairman in the state that he was travelling to Warri, but not more than 30 minutes later, there was information that he had been kidnapped.

It was learnt that Ijaw leaders have spread their dragnet to locate the kidnappers, while Ijaw youths in Edo state, yesterday, gave the kidnappers 24 hours to release the INC scribe or face their wrath.
