ADO EKITI – Fresh crisis is brewing in Ekiti State House of Assembly, as two members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Assembly have raised an alarm of marginalisation, accusing the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, dominated House of scrapping the office of Minority Leadership.
The House of Assembly is having 26 members, with two of them, Bunmi Oriniowo, Ido/Osi Constituency 1 and Ajibola Samuel Oyedele, Ekiti East constituency 2 in the opposition PDP.
Speaking with newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Ado Ekiti, yesterday, Ajobola who spoke on behalf of the two lawmakers recounted that the House’s Standing Order had made provision for the opposition party that may produce minority members in the House to be given the slot of Minority Leader in the House.
The lawmaker, however ,linked the latest development in the House to the controversy surrounding the issue of Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission, EKSIEC, where an Ado Ekiti High Court had restrained the electoral commission from organising the election over an alleged partisan ship.
