Eight suspected cultists arrested for killing boy

Asaba-EIGHT suspected cultists have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command at Ogwashi-Uku for allegedly hacking a boy to death.

State police command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, who confirmed the arrest of the suspected cultists, said, “they were arrested for murder of a yet to be identified boy at Ogwashi-Uku.”

He said: “On February 16, at 3pm,  the command received information that suspected cult boys of Aye group were fighting at Powereline, Ogwashi-Uku. Patrol team rushed to the scene and met the corpse of an unidentified victim and arrested the suspects, (names withheld).”

Muka added that the suspects had made useful statements while the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, is investigating the matter.

He said items recovered from the scene, were one cut to size double barrel gun, one locally made cut to size single barrel gun, seven live cartridges, two expended cartridges, two battle axes and three cutlasses.
