Two goals from George Amakiri in the second half saw Sharks FC defeating new comers, Jigawa Golden Stars by 4-0 at the Sharks Stadium yesterday in the reschedule week two matches of the Nigerian Premier league.

Also in the scorers’ sheet was Ejike Bright in the 3rd minute and Bernard Okoronwata 31st minute.
The victory moved Sharks to 10th on the log with five points from three games and a key tie this weekend at home to visiting Warri Wolves.

After the pouncing, Sharks assistant coach Imama Amapakabor said, his wards were condemned to win as they had lost two straight league games.

“The game was just one of those that the boys knew we had to win with a wide margin. Things went our way; we lost a lot of scoring opportunities and even the referee on the day refuse to award us a clear penalty. We had already lost two games which is not good for us as a team intending to contend for the league shield. Picking every point will matter when the chief are down at the end of the season,” Amapakabor said.

Jigawa Golden Stars will this Saturday entertain last year Federation Cup winner, Heartland of Owerri to save their league season, as they languish at the bottom of the league table with no point after three matches.
