Sapele branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, yesterday, dismissed the increase in fuel price by President Goodluck Jonathan as unconstitutional and urged him to revert to the status-quo, of N65.00 per litre.

Sapele-based octogenarian lawyer, Pa J. Odebala, joined his younger colleagues in the protest and called on the president to have a rethink.

Some placards carried by the lawyers, as they marched through major streets in Sapele,read: “No to fuel subsidy removal”, “Mr. President acted unconstitutionally”, “We need development, not impoverishment.”

They described the removal of fuel subsidy as “unfair, unwarranted, dehumanizing and retrogressive to the masses of Nigerian nation.
