PDP says Nigeria will emerge greater from present challenges

The Peoples` Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the present challenges confronting the country will result to a greater, more united and prosperous nation.

The party said in its New Year goodwill message, issued from the office of its acting National Publicity Secretary, Prof. Rufai Alkali, in Abuja on Monday that the challenges would soon be overcome.

“The current challenges confronting the country will soon be overcome and make the nation greater, more united and prosperous.

“We see great hope in the unity and growth of this nation.

“At this critical moment of our transformation, there will be challenges to our collective well- being such as we are experiencing. We shall surely overcome them,’’ the party said.

It said that Nigeria was on a steady path to greatness but that all that was needed was “an increased national consensus capable of mobilising and galvanising a national consensus for the unity, peace, growth and prosperity of the nation.

“The state of affairs in the country has gradually inspired a national consensus on the need for stakeholders in the country to come together to forge the way forward for the nation irrespective of cultural, ethnic, religious or political affiliations.’’

The statement expressed confidence in the ability of the Federal Government to tackle the present threats to national security and the unity of the country.

It called on genuine lovers of the country to play patriotic roles by mobilising and galvanising increased national consensus for the unity, peace, growth and prosperity of the nation. (NAN)
