KADUNA—ONE person was killed and two injured when gunmen launched two separate attacks in Kaura and Zangon Kataf local government areas of Kaduna State.
Chairman of Kaura council, Mrs Florence Aya, said two men were riding one a motorbike at Zunuruk, 3km from Kagoro, when unspecified number of men fired at them.
She told Vanguard: “At 7:30pm on Sunday, some men appeared at Zunuruk and shot two men on a motorcycle. The gunmen ran away.
“We have sent the wounded men to Jos for treatment and they are responding well. We are holding a meeting on the issue with youths.”
This brings to four the number of such attacks in Kaura council in the past four weeks.
In Afana, in Zangon Kataf council, a source in the village said about five men attacked the home of the village head and killed a member of the vigilante group around 1am, yesterday.
Kaduna State Police spokesman, ASP Aminu, confirmed the Zunuruk incident, but said he was not aware of the Anfana death.
