Veteran coach, Ben Duamlong has expressed satisfaction over the performance of the Home-based Eagles in their scoreless friendly encounter against the Palancas Negras of Angola midweek at the Abuja National Stadium.
The former Gombe United chief coach believes that players in the Nigerian League possess quality that can still be used to make up the Super Eagles.
“It wasn’t a bad match for them because they were able to prove themselves against experience internationals from Angola. This shows that there is still hope in our league players and I pray that national team coaches will use them to their full potentials,” Duamlong stated.
Reacting to Keshi’s statement that local coaches should improve their knowledge of the game and also their quest for discovering new talents, the former Flying Eagles coach said, “There are coaches who need to improve and there are those who are already experienced.
The problem facing the league is welfare and not coaches technical inability. When a coach is in the right frame of mind, he will definitely deliver,” Duamlong added.
