A brace from Emem Eduok and Chidi Osuchukwu adding to it, gave defending champions, Dolphins of Port Harcourt a 3-0 win over visiting Kaduna United at the Liberation Stadium.
The game which was postponed to Thursday so the Rivers State Referees council can handle it, saw a high flying Dolphins side playing enterprising football.
The victory takes Dolphins to sixth on the log with 6 points as they entertain Rangers of Enugu this Sunday while Kaduna United play host to Gombe united at the Ranchers Bess Stadium, Kaduna.
At the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Sunshine Stars pipped Federation Cup winners, Heartland of Owerr 1-0.
The goal was scored in the 54th minutes by Godfrey Oboabona from the spot-kick to Daniel Akpeyi in goal for Heartland.
Oboabona was the toss of the fans as he helped clear a goal line scare after Segun Oluwaniyi missed calculated a cross from the left side of the visitors’ attack. He saluted with a standing ovation from the fans in the stadium.
In the meantime, Lobi Stars managed a slim 1-0 win over heart fighitng Akwa United to pick its first victory for the season.
