Armed soldiers have taken over the Gani Fawehinmi Park, the Ojota venue of last week’s rallies that was renamed Freedom Park.
Thousands of protesters gathered daily at the park with speeches by labour leaders, civil society activists, as well as, artistes’ performances during the strike over the removal of fuel subsidy.
Other reports say soldiers have been deployed on major roads in Lagos, as there are increased presence of roadblocks and checkpoints in the metropolis.
