LAGOS—Following heavy traffic that has continued on Lekki-Epe Expressway since the commencement of tolling last Sunday, Lekki Concession Company, LCC, the concessionaire, yesterday, said use of electronic payment, e-tag, will go a long way to ensure free flow of traffic along the axis.
Managing Director, LCC, Mr. Opuiyo Oforiokuma, assured motorists that his company and Lagos State Government were doing everything possible to lessen the temporary inconveniencies faced by users of the road, stressing that the traffic gridlock will ease as more motorists subscribe to the electronic payment mode.
He said it was unfair to other motorists for anyone to drive his or her car to the toll point and then refuse to pay or claim that they had no money.
‘’The traffic gridlock will ease eventually. It will not be the way it was on Sunday as we move forward,” he assured.
The LCC boss, who allayed fears of vehicle owners over change, said toll collectors now had enough change to give motorists at any given time, even as he appealed to road users to embrace the electronic payment to make things easy for everyone, including themselves.
