LAGOS – Lagos State chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has expressed gratitude to Lagosians for their unflinching and unalloyed support so far, promising that better days were ahead for all in Lagos.
State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, in a statement, said they were not “unaware of all the encouragement and supports the party had received from its teeming supporters for years, even in most difficult times.
“What we owe Lagosians, no matter whose ox is gored is total commitment to making Lagos the pride of Nigeria, where all will excel irrespective of tribe, religion, creed or culture.”
The party said leaders hands were always heavy and constantly needed the supporting hands of committed admirers, associates, loyalists and strong supporters to forge ahead in taking decisions that are sometimes hard and painful, but necessary.
“The focused, committed and the visionary leader sees ahead of his subjects and he goes ahead to implement policies and programmes that will be beneficial to all concerned in the nearest future without the subjects knowing the long-term benefits sometimes.
“For instance, many have forgotten that Governor Fashola had to confront 25 cases in various courts in Lagos to get property owners to remove their fences to make way to expand the Ozumba Mbadiwe–Lekki corridor.
“The unfortunate toll controversy on Lekki-Epe expressway is part of domestic process. We in the party have had cause to say it repeatedly that democracy is a noisy process, but in the midst of this noisy controversy, consensus is achieved,” he added.
