Group tasks Yoruba leaders over peace parley

AKURE – A Non- Governmental Organisation, Save the Masses and Children’s Heart Foundation, weekend tasked traditional and religious leaders in Yoruba land to summon a fresh credible peace meeting of the leaders of the race.

The meeting, according to the group is expected to address the crisis among leaders in the South West region of the country.

Coordinator of the group, Akin Joye, in a statement in Akure said the proposed meeting was important to enable the race achieve unity among its leaders.

Joye suggested that the peace meeting, which could either be held at the Redemption Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway or the Ikenne country home of the Late Sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, should “strive towards re-activating the Yoruba culture of collective responsibility.”
