A-74 year old former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly in 1979/83 under the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) Barrister Olumide Ogidan, has emerged as the new state chairman of the ruling Labour Party (LP) in Ondo State.
The former chairman, Dr Olaiya Oni, resigned months ago, following his allegation that the state government failed to empower him.Ogidan, who hails from Akoko North East area of the state, was elected unanimously during the party’s delegate conference held in Akure.
He was nominated by the commissioner for education, Hon Remi Olatubora, and seconded by Ben Orimoloye from Akure South, Dejo Adeloye and Folake Sarumi from Akoko North.
The conference was witnessed by the state INEC officials, security operatives and supervised by the National Chairman of the LP, Barrister Dan Nwayanwu, and other national leaders of the party.
