Dream Team V loss slows down Eaglets

By Ime Bassey

As Nigerians continue to bite their fingers over their teams not qualifying for any major international championship next year, Golden Eaglets assistant coach, Nduka Ugbade has stated that they are yet to start job officially.

The Tunisia ’94 Nations Cup winner said that the ouster of the U-23 Eagles from the Olympics next year has slowed down the NFF’s plans for the Eaglets.

“The Morocco championship just finished and the NFF is trying to get over the issue of not qualifying for the Olympics but notwithstanding, we are doing our best to scout for players across the country by ourselves. For now, we have not been called upon officially to duty but we are working quietly strategising how to restore the country’s lost glory,” Ugbade said.

On the issue of age cheat, the China ‘85 Golden Eaglets captain said, “The issue is something that has been there for a long time now given the level of corrupt practices in the nation but the NFF is doing everything possible to see that it is done away with,” Ugbade added.
