Court rules on Ndume’s bail application, today

ABUJA – Having spent the weekend at Kuje Prison, Senator Mohammed Ndume, accused of complicity in sponsorship of the Boko Haram Islamic sect, will today, know the fate of a bail application he tendered before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Trial Justice Gabriel Kolawole had, Friday, ordered the State Security Services, SSS, to transfer the embattled lawmaker to prison custody pending the determination of his request for bail.

The order was made after counsel to the accused person, Mr. Ricky Tarfa, SAN, and a Director of Public Prosecution in the Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs. O. Fatunde, argued for and against the bail motion dated December 5, 2011.
