MAKURDI—Benue State House of Assembly has debunked media reports alleging that there were clandestine moves to impeach its newly-elected Speaker, Mr. Dave Iorhemba.

Addressing newsmen in Makurdi, the state capital, Majority Leader of the House, Mr. Paul Biam, said the report was untrue and baseless.

He said: “We are happy with our Speaker because he has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities that are quite exemplary.

“For anyone to insinuate that there is turmoil in the House is laughable and condemnable.”
