Shooting Stars Sports Club have recalled former Nigeria international, Mutiu Adepoju after the management board was sacked earlier in the week.

Oyo State Commissioner for Sports, Dapo Lam Adesina confirmed that Adepoju will remain as club manager. He added that new boards will be inaugurated for both Shooting Stars and Crown FC as soon as possible.

Lam Adesina stated that standard of performance have been set for the club ahead of the new season.

“We are going to tie salary to performance,” said Oyo State commissioner for Sports Dapo Lam Adeshina.

“We have set a standard of performance, which he has agreed to follow and he has agreed to deliver these set standards in the new season.”

Reacting to the new development Adepoju expressed delight at the turn of events.

“It’s a new dawn at the club. I’m happy to still be with Shooting Stars,” Adepoju said.

“What happened initially was kind of re-organisation, which is good for the club.”

“I just pray that everything works out well for 3SC as we prepare for the new season.”

Adepoju said his new designation is not any different from the administrative role he played for four years as general manager.

“It almost the same thing but due to the restructuring that is why the new title,” he said.
