Governorship aspirant in Bayelsa State on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Mr. Kemela Okara, has said that his mission for joining the race was to transform the state into a 21st century pace-setting state for development.

Addressing newsmen in Lagos, Tuesday, Okara said the present administration in the state had failed to deliver democracy dividends to the people.

He said: “There is a mismatch between the resources and what we have on ground. Bayelsa is about the most endowed states in the country but least developed. It has one of the highest revenue profiles yet is one of the smallest states in the federation.

“Our goal is to do what is best for Bayelsa State.”

He explained that he had designed a development plan called Bayelsa Integrated Development Strategy, BIDS, which will guide him to ensure that basic necessity of life get to every corner of the state.

He said: “BIDS is holistic, based on the five pillars of health, job creation, education, infrastructure and environment to give each Bayelsan dignity, prosperity and well being.”
