ABAKALIKI-THE United Nations International Children’s Fund, UNICEF, has called on relevant government agencies, World Health Organization, WHO, Canadian International Development Agency, CIDA, among others, not to relent in the fight to scale down the high rate of maternal and child mortality and morbidity in Nigeria.
It emphasized the need for a collaborative effort among all health related agencies in the country adding that such measure would ensure periodic reduction in the incidence of maternal and child mortality rates which had threatened the lives of both women and children for years.
UNICEF Chief of A-Field Office Enugu, Mr. Charles Nzuki, made the call while fielding questions from news men in Abakaliki.
