Physically challenged persons lock out workers

BY CHIDI NKWOPARA
OWERRI— Activities in Mbaitoli local council area headquarters, Nwaorieubi, were ground yesterday as aggrieved physically challenged persons barricaded the gate.

Vanguard investigations revealed that the angry persons were protesting alleged non-payment of four months arrears of salaries and allowances by the council administration.

They acted under the umbrella union of Mbaitoli Physically Challenged Persons Association, MPCPA.

Leader of the group, Comrade Emeka Nwocha, lamented that they had been facing excruciating hardship in the past four months as a result of the seizure of their salaries and allowances by the council.
