A lawyer in Sapele, Mr. Peter Ugbimi, was kidnapped in the early hours of last Wednesday by hoodlums from his house at Ugbimi Close, New Ogorode Road, Sapele by a two-man gang.
He was said to have been taken to a forest in Ajojigwo village in Sapele Local Government Area, through Ogorode axis in Sapele.
The septuagenarian was said to have spent the whole day in the kidna-ppers den, until he was rescued at about 5pm the same day.
Recounting his ordeal to Vanguard, yesterday, Ugbimi said the kidnappers came into his apartment through an air-condition loop, destroying the air-condition set in the process.
According to him, the two-man gang made straight to his bedroom, seized him and demanded for N600,000, which they claimed they knew was in his custody.
