ENUGU—MR Emmanuel Ozuku, who was severely burnt in last Sunday’s kerosene explosion that rocked his Iva Valley residence, a suburb of Enugu, died Wednesday night.
He reportedly gave up the ghost at the Accident and Emergency Ward of the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu, at about 9pm Wednesday.
His death came barely 24 hours after his wife, Nkechi and her five-year old daughter, Nnenna, were confirmed dead at the same hospital where they were admitted for high degree burns.
Only the four months old daughter of the family, Chinecherem, has so far survived the incident but doctors described her condition as very critical.
Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased family members have formally reported the incident which occurred at No. 12B Agu Abor Street, Iva Valley, Sunday night, to the police and the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR.
Family sources said arrangements were being made for the burial of the three family members while maintaining contacts with DPR to conduct thorough investigation into the matter.
Efforts to speak with officials of DPR on the development yesterday proved abortive but sources said the sample of the killer kerosene had been collected for analysis.
