Chevron donates IT equipment to rsust

CHEVRON has donated IT equipment and software to the Rivers state University of Science and Technology.  They include 104 workstations, four printers, two server workstations, multimedia equipment, seven AutoCAD software licenses, xx process design and modelling software and licenses and so on.

Commissioning, the items at the IT centre in the university, the Senate President, Senator David Mark who was flanked by governor Chibuike Amaechi and the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Barineme Fakae expressed the hope that the items would further enhance the quality of science and technology education in the school. Lauding Chevron for the gesture he described as a worthy exercise.

Earlier in his address, General Manager, Nigerian Content Development of the oil giant, Mr Raymond Wilcox said the items would help train the students to meet industry requirements on iCT related issues.

He said the oil giant had continued to live up its corporate social responsibility in its host communities, noting that it had an elaborate scholarship programme that has benefitted over six thousand Nigerians in different institutions in the country. Adding that the company also runs a special scholarship for students in its host communities.

On his part, governor Chibuike Amaechi also lauded the firm for the initiative
