In the quest to stir up spirit of diligence and hard work amongst teachers, Damsol Group of Schools’ Parents Teachers Association (PTA) has rewarded the best teacher of the school with a brand new KIA Piccanto car.

According to the association, the car gift was also to show that teachers could get their rewards for hard work here on earth.

Presenting the car and other awards during the event, the PTA Chairperson, Mrs. Adepeju Dinyo said the parents of Dansol pupils felt the need to appreciate the teachers who have impacted so much on their children or wards in the last academic year.

She  said the best teacher was selected based on the school appraisal system, the results of students at internal and external examinations and results of survey conducted among the students, adding that it was a keen contest among the teachers as there were no wide differential margins in the areas of commitment to duty.

Explaining the ideals behind the event, the event committee Chairperson, Mrs. Adejoke Biobaku said the event was in commemoration of the world’s Teachers Day which holds worldwide in October.

According to her, the grand prize of the previous edition was a Washing Machine and this year it is a brand new car. The event chairperson expressed optimism that the PTA will continue to improve on this feat.

Appreciating the parents for their kind gesture, the Director of the school, Mrs Adun Akinyemi said nothing can be more rewarding for someone to know his or her efforts are being appreciated by the right people. She commended the PTA for their support for the school in the last academic year.

She further said the feat recorded by the school would have been impossible but for the support of the parents. The Director urged the teachers to return the kind gesture shown by the parents by being diligent like never before and also to remain committed to the values of the school.
