Striking Anambra doctors urged to consider patients

AWKA— A community leader in Anambra State, Chief Anthony Oguejiofor, has urged striking doctors in the state to be sympathetic with patients who have been suffering for the past nine months since the industrial action began.

Speaking in an interview in Awka yesterday, Oguejiofor said it was the height of inhumanity for the doctors to abandon their patients who they swore to take care of, no matter the circumstance.

According to him, it is unethical for those that know that industrial actions could lead to death to go on strike for many months.

He said: “If not for the efforts of missionary hospitals and alternative medical practitioners, Anambra would have become a cemetery.”
