Asaba—Police Commissioner in charge of Anti-Bomb Command, Mr. Ambrose Aisabor, led his team to Delta State on inspection tour, with a promise to ensure full protection of the state from bomb threat.

On arrival in the state, Aisabor paid a courtesy visit to the state Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Utuama, SAN, where he said that the tour was organised “because of the prevailing insecurity situation in the state.”

Utuama noted that since the state was sustaining the nation’s economy with oil and gas, it had become imperative for the police to make it free from all sorts of threat, stressing that a weekly security meeting was held in the state to assess the security situation in a bid to forestall possible crisis in the state.

The state government has, meanwhile, approved a seven-man committee to ascertain the possibility of establishing a Security Trust Fund in the state.

The committee has the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Kingsley Emu, as  chairman.

Speaking to Vanguard in Asaba, Tuesday, on the development, the Presi-dent of Asaba Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ASSACCIMA, Chief Uju Udeme, who is secretary to the committee, said: “The benefits of the Trust Fund are numerous. It has helped states such as Lagos to achieve remarkable feats.”
