AKURE—Ondo State Chapter of the Labour Party, LP, continues to consolidate ahead of next year governorship election  as scores of members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, among other political parties, at the Igbara-Oke headquarters of Ifedore Local government  yesterday  decamped to the ruling party.

Special Assistant to former Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, Mr. Muyiwa Asagunla had last week led over 1,000 members of the PDP and ACN to the LP at a grand reception in Akoko North West Local Government Area, thus making yesterday’s defection in Igbara-Oke the second of such in one week.

At Igbara –Oke, members of the PDP who defected from various political Wards within the council were led by a former PDP House of Assembly candidate, Mr. Akin Asimolowo while Mr. Adu Isaac led those who joined the Labour party from the ACN.
