The Civil Defence, Immigration and Prisons Board, CDIPB, have released the promotion of 1,731 officers of Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS.
A breakdown of the figure shows that 66 officers of the Comptroller cadre were affected, while 971 and 694 were promoted in the Superintendent and Inspectorate cadres, respectively.
During the decoration of some of the affected officers in Abuja, the Comptroller-General of NIS, Mrs. Rose Uzoma charged all the newly-promoted officers to see their promotion as a call to greater performance in the discharge of their duties.
The immigration boss said their promotion was recognition and reward for their hard work, commitment to duty and high level of productivity. She said it imposes more responsibility on them. She urged the officers never to rest on their oars, promising that hard work and exceptional performance will always be recognised and rewarded, adding “to whom much is given, much is expected.”
