Makinde blames spate of crime on wrong educational policies

BY PETER DURU

MAKURDI – Prelate of the Methodist Church, His Eminence Ola Makinde has attributed the rise in crimes and other anti-social activities in the country to wrong educational policies by the government.

Rev. Makinde said that government stopped churches and other religious groups in the country from  direct supervision of schools, adding that this was the major cause of indiscipline in the country.

He said the take over of schools by the government ushered in an era of moral decadence among youths as it also reportedly led to the collapse in the inculcation of core values of the people in children.

Makinde  spoke while on a courtesy visit to Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State, lamenting that the said policy relegated Godly teachings to the background as against what obtained in the past when the missions controlled schools.
