BY CHIDI NKWOPARA
OWERRI—Barring any unforeseen circumstance, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will open their defence today in the election suit filed by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, against the election of Governor Rochas Okorocha.

APGA had at the last sitting, asked for a few days to enable it prepare adequately for its defence, stressing that it was only going to field about three witnesses.

Similarly, INEC said it had only a witness to prove its case, adding that they would not waste the Tribunal’s time.

Vanguard recalls that PDP fielded over 30 witnesses in its bid to prove that there was no need for the May 6, 2011, supplementary poll as the governorship election actually took place April 16, 2011.
