ABUJA – Ministers of Petroleum and Finance, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, will tomorrow hold a stakeholders’ meeting on government proposed subsidy removal.
Former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Dr. Timiebi Koripamo-Agary and former Senior Assistant General Secretary, NLC, Mallam Salihu Lukman who are conveners of the meeting told journalists in Abuja that it was meant to bring all parties to a round table to discuss the impending fuel subsidy crisis.
Lukman also said the meeting would include Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and members of the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Petroleum.
Lukman said, “We have been inundated with government plan to remove fuel subsidy by January next year. We can clearly see a battle line has been drawn and if we are to benefit at all from democratic order, there should be serious consultations to ensure that interest parties sit together
