Fashola orders 24-hr operations at PHCs

LAGOS—Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Thursday, assured residents of the state that plans had been concluded to commence 24-hour medical operation in the state Primary Health Care, PHC centres.

Fashola also urged residents of the state to troop out en-mass tomorrow and cast their vote during the local government council polls, saying “this is your civic responsibility.”

The governor, who spoke at the flag-off of the 26th free healthcare mission at Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area secretariat, Lagos said affordable and accessible healthcare were the greatest wealth any government can give to it citizens.

He said: “One of the plans we had completed is that we will put one PHC centre in each of the 20 local government areas  and 37 local council development areas, which will become our flagship PHC before the end of the year in Lagos.”

On the election, Fashola said: “Cast your vote on Saturday for the candidate you believe can deliver.

“This is the election that decides which party and candidate will be representing the electorate at the council level,” he said.

He added that human and vehiclar movement would be restricted from 7am to 3pm while voting will commence from 8am. He urged  residents to endeavour to wait at the area where they registered during registration.
