Secretary to Edo State Government, Dr. Simon Imuekemhe, has said the people of the state would judge Governor Adams Oshiomhole in 2012 based on the quality of infrastructural projects he had been able to implement.
Imuekemhe, who spoke when a coalition of eight non-govern-mental organisations paid him a courtesy call in Benin said: “I have no doubt that you are in a good position to mobilise our people towards the Governor’s victory come 2012 elections.
“We have done our part and are waiting to hand-over the baton to the youth. Therefore, you must be interested in who governs you and what happens to your state.
“A good product sells itself and I know Oshiomhole is a good product as the litmus test to assess any govern-ment’s performance is such government has been able to positively affect the lives of its citizenry.
“What the people of the state would use in judging Oshiomhole in 2012 is the quality of infrastructural projects he was able to implement in the state.
“Nobody in this state with the right frame of mind can say that Governor Oshiomhole has not touched his or her life directly or indirectly. When we talk about performance, there are four basic needs of our people which Governor Oshiomhole has addressed.
“They are education, roads, water and basic health care. Go to Idia College, Maria Gorreti College, St. John Bosco’s College, among others and see whether Oshiomhole has not done well.”
