ABAKALIKI—THE National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abakaliki, Wednesday, upheld the election of the All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, candidate in the last general election, Peter Edeh, in a petition brought against him by the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Moses Agodo-Ali.
In his ruling, Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Henry Olusiyi, said that the petitioners failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt their claims that the election was marred with multiple thump-printing,
ballot box snatching, and endorsement of voters by the supporters of the All Nigeria People Party ANPP.
He said: “The petitioners failed to substantiate their allegation that the election in the 87 polling units in Ezza North and Ishielu Local Government Area of the state were invalid.”
