BY PETER OKUTU
ABAKALIKI—EBONYI State chapter of All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, weekend, alleged that corrupt practices by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was the major factor responsible for uncompleted projects since the first civil rule in the state.

Chairman of ANPP in the state, Chief Emerike Orji, who stated this in Abakaliki while assessing the level of progress so far recorded since the creation of the state 15 years ago, blamed the leadership of PDP in the state for its inability to fix the economy, create jobs, repair roads, provide adequate security, quality education for the people, provide good hospitals and check incessant industrial action in the state’s workforce as well as develop the agricultural sector.

Orji stated that for the past 12 years, citizens of the state had found it difficult gaining access to qualitative and affordable health care system, adding that most health centres and hospitals, especially in the rural areas, had become moribund, despite the huge funds invested in the sector by the state government.

According to the ANPP chieftain, the PDP led government in the state has failed in its statutory obligation to the people of the state.
