DSFN emphasis on awareness

As part of its 10 years Anniversary, Down Syndrome Foundation of Nigeria, DSFN has called for massive awareness campaign on the disorder with a view to reducing the stigma associated with Down Syndrome in this part of the world.

The Foundation said  that with massive awareness, hope and confidence would be restored to the lives of persons with Down Syndrome.

Announcing this at a press conference to kick-start activities to mark the weeklong event in Lagos, the National President of the Foundation, Mrs. Rose Mordi said the objective of the awareness week was to raise awareness, educate and enlighten the public on the condition.

Solicing support of governments and well meaning Nigerians to reduce the burden of taking care of persons living witgh Downs Syndrome in the country, Mordi said: “We have over the years being determined to carry out this assignment with dedication, passion, diligence and love and today we are happy to say we have recorded some successes that will encourage us to work better in the years to come and to change the perception of the society about people with Down Syndrome.

appreciate Nigerians for their merciful support and encouragement in making them perform better in ameliorate how the society perceives people with Down Syndrome.
